Steve & Kirk met in the 9th grade @ Dial Jr High School, both were wild as hell. They began hunting together in the 12th grade. Steve was 1st string every year in football; he kept up with how many un-assisted tackles he made & how much bodily injury he inflicted upon his opponents -- then he broke his leg. Steve threw a shot-put 60 yards over handed during track try-outs. He came to school in 20 degree weather in a short sleeve white T-shirt everyday, and he didn’t wear socks. Their science teacher, Mrs. Tally, told Steve he would never amount to anything because Steve had Frank Bower's phone # on the only page in his science notebook. She called Kirk dense because he daydreamed about duck hunting in class.

Steve & Kirk quit college the same day to go to Bayou Meto & duck hunt in the snow, they met Walter Will Bryant that day, at a culvert. They hunted & fished together frequently until each began guiding duck hunts. Steve is a very knowledgeable fisherman & hunter. The thing Kirk knows most about Steve is, he has always been good to other people. Kirk said "if I had one day left to hunt & could pick anybody he wanted to go with, it would be Steve". Kirk & Steve have duck hunted Bayou Meto all of their lives. Steve Schultz made TOMBSTONE the most famed timber hunting hole in all of Arkansas. -- Kirk McCullough
